Canadian Couples Eloping in Nashville

Updated: Sep 20

Canadians eloping in the U.S. is more popular than ever! Canadian couples eloping in the United States have several motivations. Just like many American couples, many Canadian couples want to combine their vacation travel plans with their wedding plans. Many Canadians love to vacation in different parts of the United States. The United States is a large and diverse county with so many options for them, just across a friendly border. The U.S. has many warm-weather destinations that appeal to our neighbors to the north. Next, the U.S. has many other attractions that draw many Canadians, such as appeal of County Music in Nashville or the distilleries and mountains east of Nashville. Many of my Canadian couples have planned their Nashville elopement alongside plans to visit the Great Smokey Mountains National Park to our east, Memphis to our west, and to our south with New Orleans, Atlanta, and the beaches and theme parks of Florida

Travel between Canada and The United States is easy. There are numerous direct flights between Canadian and American cities. Also, many Canadians find it just as appealing to drive to their American destination in their own car or an R.V. In many cases, they don’t even leave their own time zone! Language is another draw, since Canadians and Americans speak English. Even phone numbers, shared time zones, and right-side driving are similar between the U.S. and Canada, making planning easy, despite crossing an international border.

It is quite easy for Canadians to obtain a marriage license in many U.S. states, such as Tennessee where all that is required is a valid Canadian passport, along with other documents that they would need for a marriage in Canada or the U.S. Tennessee has no waiting period and doesn’t require any witnesses to sign the marriage license, making it easy four couples with no guests. If you are in Canada trying to decide if it is easy for a Canadian to elope in the U.S., visit our website to learn more about the process. RichEvents.org.
